A piece inspired by the lyrics of 'Pillow Fight', track 9 of James Marriott's sophomore album 'Don't Tell The Dog'. I selected the reference image based on the serene nature of it, with James looking peaceful. I wanted James to look peaceful in order to juxtapose him with the calamity of pillows and feathers flying everywhere and the dark lyric "I don't wanna be here anymore".
I wanted this piece to reflect the idea of projecting your internal issues onto those around you, causing your life to entail external chaos, as well as internal.

A piece inspired by the lyrics of 'Why Don't You Kill Me?', track 10 of James Marriott's sophomore album 'Don't Tell The Dog'. In this piece, I wanted to take a scary, claustrophobic concept and add a mystical element to it. This is why I chose to make the hands clawing at James' face vibrant and sparkly. When reflecting on this song, it made me think of being on a knife's edge, feeling close to death every time a relationship almost ends, but becoming almost resuscitated when that person briefly comes back to you. This brought about the feelings of claustrophobia that birthed the concept of this piece.

A piece inspired by the lyrics of 'Limbs', track 11 of James Marriott's sophomore album 'Don't Tell The Dog'. This song, for me, is the most haunting on the record. To reflect this, this piece is has an intentionally muted colour palette in comparison to the rest of the pieces in this series. This song gave me feelings of disconnect and abandonment. To convey the disconnection, as well as the songs title, I decided to make James a broken mannequin within the basement of a gallery (a nod to the lyric "A pretty face in your gallery"). James' head and torso are contained within a glass box, this is based on the lyric "Place me in boxes" and also portrays the disconnect between James' mind and body, in addition to his disconnection from the rest of the world. The plinth his head and torso are placed on contains the mystical swirly blue motif that has run throughout this series, this illustrates just how condensed down his inner world has become, resigned to this plinth without any means of escape (hence the addition of tears to James). The setting of this piece being the basement of the gallery highlights the feelings of abandonment I drew from this song. Despite trying his best to be perfect for somebody and craving their validation (highlighted in the lyrics "Tell me you're impressed" and "I'd follow your lead, And replace all I've been, Become what you need"), he's still not good enough to be displayed proudly, instead left in the dark corners of the gallery where he's less likely to be seen. The wooden barrier between James and the viewer, bearing the inscription "I'll be your lie, If you'll be mine", portrays the metaphorical barrier that exists between James and the viewer, even through the giving and receiving of art, one of the most personal exchanges that can take place (in my opinion).

About This Piece

2160 x 2700 px canvas on Procreate. This piece was created shortly after the 2024 US presidential election. As the climate across the world becomes progressively more hostile towards queer people, queer connection has become more important than ever before. To me, queer art is the cornerstone of this connection.I wanted this piece to look like something that could've been screen printed, whilst giving the lettering an almost knitted texture.

About This Piece

2160 x 2700 px canvas on Procreate.Quite possibly the weirdest self portrait I've ever made! I wanted to try working with a more jagged line art style, in contrast to the more fluid line art seen in my fan art.I often call myself an 'air head', with my mental health struggles, paired with the disconnect between how I feel inside vs how my body looks on the outside due to my dysphoria. I often believe this feels like having a helium balloon for a head, which I decided to make a heart because despite feeling floaty a lot of the time, I have a lot of love to give.

About This Piece

2048 x 2048 px canvas on Procreate.Similarly to my 'Air Head' piece, there's nothing going on in the mind of Lewis! Just a silly little self portrait (which is now incredibly outdated due to getting many new piercings).

If you'd like to contact Marie for a haircut, email her ([email protected]) or call either number seen in the flyer
I made a full advertising campaign for Eastbourne-based barber Marie Ely (who happens to be my auntie). This included her logo, and 3 flyer variants.
Marie wanted her branding to be reminiscent of traditional English barbers, but with a more updated look to fit the current market.

My first ever commission, and probably still my most treasured. My only brief from Arthur was to create a airplane window design, the rest was left up to me, and I had so much fun with it!
